a rad recap on dec. 8
a few advent thoughts (full of feelings) and a classic r.e.p.o.r.t. style recap (full of links and goodness)
hello, friends!
here we are, in december, at the end of autumn (even though it already feels like winter where i live), in the early days of advent and also of hanukkah, in the season of so much celebrating but also so much consumerism and chaos and calendars full to the brim.
in short, i’m tired.
i wrote a bit about how i’m feeling in this advent season here, but in summary: so much has changed in my life, my faith, my rhythms, my worship since a year ago. i feel pretty tender about it all, and i’ll probably cry a lot this advent and christmas. but it’s my hope that this season will be one where i can be open to meeting holy spirit, to experiencing joy, wonder, and hope again, to find the spark of faith within me growing into more of a flame.
all of that to say, no matter where you find yourself this december, in this season of more darkness, i hope you are met by glimmers of light. i hope joy surprises you and sparks your heart with delight. i hope that even when the nights seem unending, you feel cradled by the crescent of the moon.
you are loved, and you are not alone, and can make it through to brighter days (or savor them as they happen here).
however and whatever you may celebrate this season, even if simply that you made it through another day, may you name it and hold it and count all the good there is to be grasped.
okay, i’m going to really become a puddle of sappy tears if i keep writing, SO for this recap, i’m going back to the basics and sharing a fun round-up using @gooseweek’s R.E.P.O.R.T. style i’ve done before here and really enjoyed!
(ps— i’ve been percolating on the idea of turning “rad recap” into an acronym of my own, which is something
is going to be doing a version of on her substack that i love, too… SHOULD I DO IT!?)❄️here’s my december r.e.p.o.r.t:
