five rad finds // from april
five good, weird, interesting things i've enjoyed this month 🙏🏼🦄💸🕊️📖
hello, friends! happy taurus season! i only care about that because it’s almost my birthday!
spring has sprung, the pollen is pollening, higher education work life is ramping up, the world continues to be an absolute dumpster fire, BUT NEVERTHELESS WE PERSIST. and we share fun little things in emails, as a treat.
here are this month’s finds:
find #1: faith that survives
sarah bessey (one of my faves forever!) was recently on kate bowler’s everything happens podcast and they had a beautifiul conversation about faith that evolves, and how we find god in the mess of it all. grateful for these wise women and the way they lead through the wilderness so many of us are experiencing in our faith and with our churches.
find #2: glitter and greed
y’all — this is a TRIP. i wasn’t a big lisa frank girlie (anyone else grow up with parents who were very anti-brand??) but this was a really interesting and eye-opening four-part docuseries about lisa frank (both the woman and the brand). also it was so beautifully shot? well made, and worth a watch!
find #3: a simplifed tariff story
i’ll confess: tariffs are not something i have ever thought about, nor something i fully understand. all the talk of them lately has left me feeling like 😵💫 so i’m really appreciative of small business owners like emily ley who are willing to be transparent about the impact they have on her work and products. (admittedly, this small biz makes big bucks, but the point still stands.)
this is another really good reminder of how things can SEEM so political or even so cut and dry, but getting up close to hear the human stories and the tangible impact and the more personal affects of issues really makes these things real.
find #4: this threads post
find #5: spring reading

Oh man, I was a huuuuuge Lisa Frank girl as a kid. I'm not a big documentary watcher, but this one is going on the list.
